HISTORY

Swan Lifeline is the oldest and original registered charity entirely devoted to the care One of our founders, Tim Heron out on a rescue. Tim has since retired and needs of sick and injured swans. The charity was formed in 1986 by a group of dedicated people who had been involved with swan rescue and treatment for many years. The trustees are actively involved in the work of the charity.

When we first set up we used facilities at various private homes whilst looking for our own dedicated centre. In 1992 Eton College offered our charity Cuckoo Weir Island, which they would lease to us free of charge. After building the treatment centre and outside pens, Swan Lifeline moved in, in 1993.

During the past twenty years, Swan Lifeline have rescued and treated over 20,000 swans!.
